Can you make it snow?

Evo - The enjoyment of friends in the mountains.

Working as an adventure photographer the weather is a major factor when planning shoots, and executing concepts from clients. You can do all the preproduction you want but in the mountains you only have so much control and need to be ready for anything.

As a retailer, evo represents a variety of brands so the main direction for this shoot was to capture the enjoyment of being outside on the mountain with friends, and less about the specific product.

With the goal to capture this friendship and a mix of weather conditions throughout winter we needed to make a solid plan. While we can’t actually make it snow, we can plan accordingly, and have open lines of communication about what is and isn’t realistic. Working with an entirely local team allowed us to break this shoot down over the winter, getting some days in the middle of winter, and then a third day in the spring when the snow was slushy and the mountain was warm.
